Jeremy Renner Speaks Out for First Time Since Accident, Shares Photo from Hospital Bed

The actor shared on Instagram that he's currently "too messed up now to type"

Jeremy Renner is thanking fans for their support two days after suffering serious injuries in a snowplow accident.

The Hawkeye actor, 51, broke his silence on Tuesday, sharing a photo from his hospital bed on Instagram.

"Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all," he wrote in the caption.

Renner sustained blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being involved in a snowplow accident on his property in Reno, Nevada, on New Year's Day, Sunday, Jan. 1, and was airlifted to a hospital. He underwent surgery on Jan. 2, and afterward, he remained in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition at the time.

A rep told PEOPLE Tuesday that Renner was "moving snow from his driveway on Sunday so that his family members could depart his home after spending New Years together. He was also helping clear out the snow of his neighbor's home as everyone up there had been without power for 24 hours and there had been a large snowfall."

"So he was helping everyone in trying to clear out the snow so people could get out," the rep added.

In a previous statement from that day, Renner's rep said, "Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."

5 French beauty essentials, according to the ‘Emily in Paris’ makeup artist

Filled with more juicy drama, avant-garde fashion and bold beauty, the new season of “Emily in Paris” dropped on Netflix on Dec. 21, just in time to give us plenty of style inspo for the new year.

Within the first two minutes of the series’ third installment, we see Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, make a drastic beauty change as she chops her hair into bangs. The new fringe sets the tone for the beauty looks of the season — a little more French, and a lot more dramatic.

“We wanted to make the makeup evolved in a way that brings more fun and more French glamor,” says the show’s lead makeup artist AurĂ©lie Payen. “We had to make some statements in hair and makeup to show that she has changes happening Emily’s new hair not only shows her embrace of Paris — bangs, according to Payen, bring some “French cool attitude” — but also keeps her bold lipstick as the center of her makeup. “[Emily] is very vocal. She has a lot of things to say. So we needed to keep that focus on the mouth,” Payen explains. Vibrant lip colors were present in seasons one and two, but they become even more emotive and especially lean into powerful red tones in season three.

Likewise, the audience sees an evolution for Emily’s friends Mindy (played by x) and Camille (played by Camille Razat). As Mindy secures a gig performing at a jazz club, her center-stage fashion and makeup become super flashy. Meanwhile, we see Camille working at an art gallery, where her style matches the creative setting and her beauty looks get an added edge with graphic liner.

To create the dynamic beauty looks, Payen relied on a bevy of French products. From Parisian staples like Payot and Talika to worldwide favorites from L’Oreal and LancĂ´me, the makeup and skin care used on set added an extra dose of French flair.

Here, Payen shares eight French beauty products used behind-the-scenes. Consider them un petit plaisir (“a little treat”) and add them to your own routine to achieve that effortless French-girl style.

          PAYOT RETAIL QUARTZ ROLLER

Skin prep is essential for makeup looks that will last through the long days of filming. "I really love to do a massage before applying any makeup because it's really relaxing for the skin," Payen shares. This quartz roller was a favorite beauty tool on set for massaging and depuffing.

Talika Eye Therapy Patch

Payen loves these reusable eye patches from Parisian brand Talika. They're great for refreshing tired eyes as they deliver ceramides and shea butter to plump and moisturize the under-eye area.

For Collins' skin, Payen would finish with this luxe serum that contains hyaluronic acidvitamin C and bifidus prebiotic, which helps balance the skin's microbiome.

LancĂ´me L'Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick

shades French Idol, Rouge Pigalle and Mademoiselle Lupita to make her lips pop. "I love to work with matte shades, because these are the ones that bring more deepness," Payen says.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Super-Slim Liquid Eyeliner

Camille's character is the "quintessence of the French girl," according to Payen, which we see in her effortless approach to style. She's never too done up, but her looks become more experimental in both fashion and beauty.

"When we do 'Emily in Paris,' we are very into the fashion right now, what we are living right now and what can also be avant-garde," Payen says. Reflecting the adventurous spirit of current trends, Payen translates this into bold, graphic eyeliner for Camille with this precision tip pen.

Jeremy Renner was clearing driveways prior to snow plowing accident

Hawkeye" star Jeremy Renner was near his home, clearing driveways prior to his snow plowing accident, according to a representative for the actor.

Renner was moving snow from his driveway on Sunday, so that his family members could depart his Nevada residence after they celebrated the holidays together, Samantha Mast, Renner's publicist, told CNN on Tuesday. Members of Renner's family were with him when the accident occurred.

The Reno Gazette Journal reported on Monday that Renner had been assisting a stranded motorist at the time of the accident, citing Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. Mast said he was helping clear a neighbor's driveway.

More details about what led to the accident will be shared by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office at a press briefing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, Mast said. Renner remains hospitalized under intensive care. He is recovering from surgery after suffering "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries," a spokesperson for Renner previously told CNN.

The 51-year-old actor has so far undergone two surgeries to address injuries he sustained in the accident, a source close to the actor told CNN.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has said its deputies responded to a "traumatic injury" involving Renner in the area of Mount Rose Highway in Reno.

Deputies found Renner injured and coordinated his transport to an area hospital, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release, adding that the actor was the only person involved in the accident.

At the time of the accident, parts of western Nevada were covered with snow. The Reno area received around 6-12 inches of snow at elevations below 5,000 feet between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, and up to 18 inches at higher elevations, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Renner has shared multiple videos and photos on his verified social media accounts showing him in snowy conditions, including one Instagram video posted two weeks ago in which the actor appears to be driving a snowplow.

Renner's family released a statement Monday evening thanking hospital staff and first responders as the actor remained hospitalized.

"Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families," a statement from his spokesperson read. "They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."

Renner stars in the Paramount+ series "Mayor of Kingstown" and is best known for his role as Hawkeye in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

His "Avengers" co-star Mark Ruffalo asked for prayers of support for Renner on Monday.

"Prayers up for our brother @jeremyrenner on a full and speedy recovery," Ruffalo posted on his Instagram stories. "Please send healing goodness his way."

Prince Harry says King Charles, Prince William have 'shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile': 'It never needed to be this way'

Prince Harry says the royal family's "silence is betrayal."

Ahead of the release of his memoir Spare, the British royal gave two interviews, to Anderson Cooper for CBS's 60 Minutes in the U.S. and Tom Bradby for ITV in the U.K., in which he talks about messy relations with his famous family.

In a clip from the CBS interview, which airs Sunday, Cooper brings up criticism Harry has faced from people saying that he stepped down as a senior royal and moved to California with wife Meghan Markle, yet they continue to publicly air their grievances about the royal family, most recently in their recent Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan. King Charles's younger son insists he's tried to handle things privately with no success.

"Every single time I tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife," he said. "You know, the family motto is: 'Never complain, never explain.' But it's just a motto. It doesn't really hold

Harry said there has been "endless" complaining and explaining from the royal family through the media. He claimed that royal family members, through their various press offices and spokespeople, plant stories about them in newspapers through unnamed sources. (According to Yahoo U.K.'s royal executive editor Omid Scobie, "royal sources" are often "anonymous palace aides.")

"They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent and that correspondent will ... be spoon-fed information and write the story," Harry claimed. "At the bottom of [the article, it] will say they have reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment, but the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting. So when we're being told for the last six years, 'We can't put a statement out to protect you.' But you do it for other members of the family. It becomes — there becomes a point when silence is betrayal."

He also made clear he has no plans to return as a senior member of the royal family.

Meanwhile, Harry said in the ITV interview, which also airs Sunday, that "it never needed to be this way," but "the leaking and the planting" of stories drove a wedge.

"I want a family, not an institution," he said. "They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back."

However, he said the royals "feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains."

Bradby has known Harry for more than 20 years and interviewed him with Markle during their 2019 trip to Africa, memorably asking Markle how her mental health was amid the pressure of royal life.

Both new interviews with Harry took place in California, where he and Markle reside with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, after leaving England. His book, Spare, comes out on Jan. 10.

Spare publisher, Penguin, described the memoir as "intimate and heartfelt." Harry said in the book's press release that he wrote it "not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become... My hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think." He promised an "account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful." He donated proceeds from Spare to two different charities: $1,500,000 to Sentebale and £300,000 to the WellChild charity.

Prince Harry Tells Anderson Cooper Why He Decided To Speak Out Publicly Amid Criticism In ‘60 Minutes’ Interview – Update

Prince Harry is speaking about why he and and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, decided to air their grievances publicly after stepping back from the royal family.

In a new clip released Monday for his upcoming interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Harry tells Cooper he tried to address the situation privately.

“And every single time I tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife,” he said. “You know, the family motto is ‘Never complain, never explain.’ It’s just a motto.”

The interview on 60 Minutes comes after the release of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, in which Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle made several revelations and blamed the Daily Mail for Markle’s miscarriage, among other things.

You can watch the clip above and read details of the upcoming interview below.

PREVIOUS, January 31: Prince Harry is sitting down with Anderson Cooper for an interview on 60 Minutes. The royal’s appearance on the CBS program is scheduled to air on Sunday, January 8.

Harry’s interview will be his first U.S. television appearance to discuss his memoir “Spare.”

Watch the preview below.

The interview on 60 Minutes comes after Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary with his wife Meghan Markle, Harry & Meghan. The show’s logline said, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story.” Harry & Meghan also explored “the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.”

Throughout the six-episode documentary series, the couple made several revelations and blamed the Daily Mail for Markle’s miscarriage. The publication brought to light a private letter Markle had written to her father and all the media attention it received caused a lot of stress to the former Suits star, who was pregnant at the time.

“I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what The Mail did. I watched the whole thing,” Prince Harry said.

He added: “Now, do we absolutely know that the miscarriage was caused by that? Of course, we don’t. But bearing in mind the stress that caused, the lack of sleep, and the timing of the pregnancy, how many weeks in she was. I can say from what I saw that miscarriage was created by what they were trying to do to her.”
