 Clark Haggans, a former Steelers LB, passes away at age 46.  The Super Bowl champion played 13 NFL seasons.


We report the death of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Clark Haggans at the age of 46 with heavy hearts. Haggans created a lasting impression on the field and in the hearts of fans throughout his productive 13-season career in the National Football League (NFL).


At Colorado State University, where he displayed his talent and attracted the attention of NFL scouts, Haggans' football career got off to a strong start. His professional career began when the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.


Haggans made substantial contributions to the Steelers' success from 2000 through 2007 during his time there.defense. He was renowned for his adaptability, exhibiting superb pass-rushing abilities as well as the capacity to successfully defend against the run. Haggans contributed significantly to the 2005 Steelers' Super Bowl XL triumph, further solidifying his place in the organization.

Haggans played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2008 to 2010 after leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he later had brief spells with the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans. He persevered and remained committed to the game he loved despite experiencing some injury setbacks along the way.
