"Hurricanes beat Devils 2-0, take 2nd-round series lead"

The Carolina Hurricanes took a 2-0 series lead against the New Jersey Devils with a convincing 2-0 victory on Tuesday night. The Hurricanes have been one of the most impressive teams in the playoffs so far, and they continued their strong play in Game 2.

The Hurricanes got off to a quick start in the first period, with Andrei Svechnikov scoring just over five minutes into the game. The Devils tried to mount a comeback, but the Hurricanes' defense was too strong, and goalie Petr Mrazek made some key saves to keep the Devils off the scoreboard.

In the second period, the Hurricanes extended their lead with a goal from Warren Foegele. The Devils continued to push back, but Mrazek and the Hurricanes' defense held strong, and they were able to hold on for the win.

The Hurricanes have been dominant on both ends of the ice in this series, and they have outscored the Devils 6-1 so far. The Devils will need to find a way to generate more offense if they hope to get back into the series.

With the series shifting back to New Jersey for Game 3, the Hurricanes will look to keep their momentum going and take a commanding 3-0 series lead. If they continue to play like they have been, they will be tough to beat and could be a serious contender for the Stanley Cup.
