DC's first Latino superhero, Blue Beetle, gets an Iron Man-like alien suit in the newly released trailer.

DC's First Latino Superhero Gets Iron Man-Like Alien Suit in Blue Beetle Trailer

DC Comics has released the first official trailer for Blue Beetle, its first-ever Latino superhero film. The movie follows Jaime Reyes, a Mexican-American teenager who discovers a mysterious alien scarab that gives him a powerful suit of armor and transforms him into the Blue Beetle.

In the trailer, we see Jaime struggling to come to terms with his newfound powers, as well as the responsibility that comes with them. The suit, which appears to be a mix of alien technology and human engineering, gives Jaime incredible strength and agility, as well as the ability to fly and shoot energy blasts.

Fans of Iron Man will notice some similarities between the Blue Beetle suit and Tony Stark's famous armor, but the Blue Beetle suit has its own unique features and design. The suit is also more organic-looking than Iron Man's, with a sleek blue-and-black color scheme.

The Blue Beetle comic book series has been around since the 1960s, but Jaime Reyes didn't become the Blue Beetle until 2006. Since then, he has become a fan favorite and an important symbol of Latino representation in superhero comics.

Blue Beetle is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Xolo MaridueƱa as Jaime Reyes. The movie is set to be released on HBO Max in 2022.
