Former ABC anchors run NYC Half Marathon together after firing

In a show of resilience and determination, former ABC news anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes ran the 2023 NYC Half Marathon together, just months after being fired from the network.

The duo, who had previously worked together on the show "GMA3: What You Need To Know," were let go from their positions in late 2022 amidst a restructuring of the network's news division. Despite the unexpected setback, Robach and Holmes decided to turn their focus towards their passion for running and set their sights on completing the iconic half marathon in New York City.

Robach and Holmes, both avid runners, began training for the race together in early 2023. They documented their progress on social media, sharing their training runs and words of encouragement with their followers. As the race date approached, the duo expressed excitement and nerves, but also a sense of determination to cross the finish line together.

On race day, Robach and Holmes were greeted with cheers and support from fellow runners and spectators alike. The pair ran side by side throughout the entire race, pushing each other to keep going through the grueling 13.1-mile course. Despite the challenges, Robach and Holmes remained focused and determined, crossing the finish line together with big smiles and a sense of accomplishment.

Reflecting on the experience, Robach and Holmes spoke of how running has helped them cope with the challenges of their recent job loss. "Running has always been a way for me to clear my mind and stay focused," Robach said. "It's been a source of strength during this difficult time."

Holmes echoed this sentiment, saying, "Running has been a way for me to channel my energy and stay positive. It's been a reminder that we can overcome obstacles and come out stronger on the other side."

The duo hopes to continue their running journey together and inspire others to find their own sources of strength and resilience. "No matter what life throws at you, there's always a way to keep moving forward," Robach said. "We may have been knocked down, but we're not out. We're just getting started."
