Actor Tom Sizemore Dies at 61







Tom Sizemore, the actor best known for his role in the 1998 war drama Saving Private Ryan, has died at the age of 61.


Sizemore's death was confirmed by his manager, who said in a statement that the actor passed away on Tuesday, March 3, at a Los Angeles hospital. The cause of death was not immediately known.




Sizemore was born in Detroit, Michigan, and began his acting career in the late 1980s. He rose to fame in the mid-1990s with roles in films such as Heat, Natural Born Killers, and Strange Days. He was also known for his roles in television shows such as CSI: Miami and 24.


Sizemore's most iconic role was as Sergeant Horvath in Saving Private Ryan, for which he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. He also appeared in other films such as Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, and The Salton Sea.


Sizemore had a troubled personal life, and was arrested multiple times for drug possession and domestic violence. He was also the subject of a sexual misconduct allegation in 2003, which he denied.

Sizemore is survived by his two children, daughter Rose and son Jagger.
