"Deadly Earthquake Traps People Under Rubble in Turkey"

The European Union has agreed to a new Brexit deal with the UK, ending months of uncertainty and paving the way for the UK to leave the bloc on 31 January.

The deal was agreed by the EU's 27 member states after a marathon session of talks in Brussels.

It will now be put to the UK Parliament for approval.

The agreement covers the terms of the UK's withdrawal, including citizens' rights, the UK's financial settlement and arrangements for the Irish border.

The UK will leave the EU single market and customs union, but will remain in a free trade area with the bloc.

The UK will also be able to negotiate its own trade deals with other countries, although it will have to abide by EU rules in areas such as state aid and competition.

The deal also includes a transition period, during which the UK will remain subject to EU rules, until the end of 2020

The UK will also have to pay a financial settlement to the EU, estimated to be around £39bn.

The agreement will now be put to the UK Parliament for approval. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he is confident it will pass.
